During corona pandemic, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry had the lead and pivotal role in implementing many initiatives and programs. This demonstrated the belief of the Chamber and its Board of Directors in the importance to support society in critical times. Since its establishment in 1946 AD, Jeddah Chamber has been known for its responsible social role, as its members have provided all forms of support and assistance to the business community and civil society over the years.
The Chamber's initiatives included:
- Made Jeddah International Exhibition and Convention Center available to the Ministry of Health to use and convert it into a field hospital with a capacity of 500 beds for isolating corona infected cases.
- Cooperated with Abdul Latif Jameel Outdoor Advertising Company to implement internal boards and Corona awareness posters inside the field hospital at the Special Needs Center.
- Provided support and assistance to needy families, field employers, and people with special needs.
- Participated in fundraising campaigns and provision of food baskets.
- Participated with the Principality of Makkah Region in (Barran bi Makkah) Campaign
