Business councils are an economic gathering that includes a group representing the business sector in the Kingdom, aiming to activate the economic relations between the Kingdom and other countries in various fields, through a systematic framework that achieves the set and specific objectives of the economic relationship with these countries
Developing and consolidating relations between the business community in both countries, and introducing the representatives and participants of the two parties to the economic opportunities available to them
Encouraging exports and exchanging goods and services through continuous contacts, exchanging information and holding exhibitions in both countries
Communicating with the responsible authorities of the two countries with the aim of improving the climate of cooperation between the two sides, and overcoming the obstacles encountered by either of them
Encouraging the establishment of economic projects in the two countries, by identifying the best available financing methods, and providing information and services to businessmen interested in establishing such projects
Work to settle commercial disputes that may arise between businessmen in the two countries by amicable means
Paying attention to training programs, technology transfer and the right to knowledge
Preparing for volunteer work
To have commercial, industrial or investment dealings with the counterpart country, provided proof of this, and the Chamber’s Board Secretariat may make an exception from these conditions if the number of members of the Business Council does not exceed seven
The ability to participate in the activities of the Business Council
Proficiency in the language of the counterpart country or the English language, with proof
To be a participant in one of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, with proof
He must not have been convicted of a crime against honor and honesty, unless he has been rehabilitated
The duration of the business council session is three years starting from the date of the first meeting of the business council during which the president and his two deputies are elected. Membership of business councils is available until the end of the term of each council
