Trade
Trade has been present in the city of Jeddah since ancient times. Jeddah is a major commercial center characterized by constant movement and development in various commercial activities. The opening of new horizons through the Kingdom's Vision 2030, and the establishment of a number of programs supporting small and medium enterprises, is expected to be reflected in the movement of trade, and raise the percentage of the private sector's contribution to the gross domestic product
Manufacturing
The total number of existing factories in the industrial cities of Jeddah is about 1945 factories. It also has the first and second industrial cities, in addition to the third industrial city, whose development began in 2012, which in turn will contribute to increasing industrial investment opportunities in Jeddah
Tourism
The city of Jeddah is considered the tourist capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and this comes from the presence of many projects and landmarks that attract tourists, in addition to receiving pilgrims which enhances religious tourism
Agriculture
The number of Jeddah farms has shrunk by a large percentage, up to 40%, as a result of urban expansion in Jeddah and other governorates in the Makkah region
Fishing
The profession of fishing began since ancient times, as it was a main source of income for the residents of the city of Jeddah, but it is still a traditional profession until it wasn't developed through the entry of investors in it, in addition to the reluctance of the new generation of young people to practice this profession
Infrastructure Preparation
The most prominent development projects for the road network are: the new parallel ring road project (the eastern axis), which is located in the far east of the city and cuts through the city from its far north to its far south. This road is considered an alternative axis to the current ring highway (Al-Haramain Road); a project to convert Prince Majed Street from a main street to a highway, where work is underway to turn all the main intersections on Prince Majed Street into bridges and tunnels to become a continuous and non-stop highway from the south of the city all the way to its north until it reaches the new entrance to the international airport. This development will help find an alternative supporting the Medina Road to reduce the congestion and traffic density that it witnesses. Work is underway to improve and develop many traffic intersections and main squares that have been converted into bridges and tunnels to facilitate and improve movement, such as the intersection of King Abdullah Road with Al-Andalus Street, the intersection of Sari Street with Al-Madinah Road, and the intersection of Palestine Street with Al-Sittin Street.
Water
The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is working on the establishment of the strategic storage project, which includes the establishment of six tanks with a capacity of 166,600 m3 per tank, whose completion rate has reached 60% so far. As for the main streets and roads, they contain a partial water network that does not cover the entire city of Jeddah
Telecommunication
The ICT sector strategy 2019-2023, within the framework of the efforts of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, aims to establish a strong and advanced digital infrastructure that contributes to accelerating the digital transformation process. And thus support the directions and vision of the Kingdom 2030 aimed at enhancing the role of the communications and information technology sector to build a digital society through the launch of many projects and programs that include coverage of communications and information technology services for the city of Jeddah. Targeting the sectors of digital commerce, digital education, digital health, the fourth industrial revolution, smart cities, national data and e-government
Electricity
The city of Jeddah is completely covered by electricity, which is transferred through power stations distributed in the city of Jeddah
