The “first phase” has started with the unplanned development phase, i.e. the urbanization rush towards the coastal plain in the north, south and east to reconstruct and build new neighborhoods that include wide perpendicular and straight streets
1962 - 197
Phase Two: The city of Jeddah witnessed the development based on the preliminary studies that precede the implementation, which coincided with the establishment of the engineering departments, municipalities and the United Nations Town Planning Office
1947 - 1984
This stage was known as the stage of comprehensive planning and because it coincided with the stage of the first three five-year plans; This phase witnessed the construction of new residential neighborhoods, bridges, intersections, green areas and gardens, as witnessed by the current transportation network and communications of all kinds of light, post and telephone. As a necessary matter for the commercial work, the most important development during this period is the tourist development, as the number of tourists who are coming to spend the holidays in the city of Jeddah,  has increased. In fact, Jeddah has prominent touristic attractions most notably Jeddah corniche, considered to be the longest and most beautiful touristic corniche, which turned it into an investment drawing are, as well as improving its position as a commercial center on the regional level
