Jeddah-

The Jeddah Chamber held the introductory workshop on a standardization platform for manufacturers, importers and users of measuring devices. This was done in cooperation with the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, and focused on explaining the method of registering establishments on the platform to request services for verifying measurement devices used in commercial exchanges. The workshop was attended by the Director of the Support and Business Coordination Unit at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Engineer Obaidan Sindi, the Director of the Authority’s Governance and Control Department, Engineer Nawaf Al-Shammari, the Director of the Non-Automatic Scales Department at the Authority, Engineer Fawaz Al-Omari, and the representative of information technology at the Authority, Engineer Hamad Al-Dahesh; Highlighting the registration pattern for the issuance of the National Model Approval Certificate for Measuring Instruments. The workshop included axes, including: an introduction to the science of legal calibration, an introduction to the services of the National Program for Measurement and Calibration, and an introduction to the standardization platform for electronic services; The process of approving the devices goes through three stages: model approval before the manufacturing process in large quantities, after production and before entering the measurement tools into the Saudi market, during operation and after maintenance.
