Yesterday, the Jeddah Chamber hosted the activities of the meeting of the Thai delegation, headed by the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Don Pramudwinai. Which brings together representatives of major companies specialized in the fields of contracting, development, environment, energy and food security; It is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Investment; And in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Communication with Investors, Badr Bin Ibrahim Al Badr; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Muhammed Bin Youssef Naghi, business owners and representatives of the sectoral councils of the Chamber and the private sector in the two countries and those interested in developing joint investments.

The meeting focused on discussing the most promising investment sectors between the two countries in the fields of industry, tourism and major projects related to Vision 2030. This is done by building investment partnerships with various countries of the world to advance trade exchange; Transferring economic and investment cooperation relations to advanced steps, reviewing developments in the investment environment and promising investment opportunities; Amid the participation of a number of officials and CEOs of major Saudi and Thai companies.

For his part, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jeddah Chamber, Muhammed Bin Youssef Naghi, affirmed the Chamber's keenness to hold such meetings, which come within the framework of caring for business owners and providing them with opportunities in order to inform them of experiences and expertise in various economic sectors and encourage them to the importance of discussing opportunities with their Thai counterparts, which will contribute in enhancing trade exchange between the Kingdom and Thailand; As there are promising opportunities that will be addressed through consultation meetings and bilateral meetings between business owners in the two countries to take advantage of the economic and investment advantages in the Saudi and Thai markets.

He praised the outputs of the Saudi-Thai Investment Forum, which was held recently in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Falih, and the Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Don Pramudwinai, in addition to the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and representatives of the private sector from the two countries. Which included bilateral sessions between representatives of the private sector from the two countries to discuss opportunities for cooperation and partnership and look at the promising opportunities for investors.

The Thai delegation also appreciated the establishment of the Jeddah Chamber for this meeting and the efforts exerted to encourage joint investments, which achieves everything that would push the development and revitalization of Saudi-Thai trade relations and everything that serves the development of partnership relations between the business sectors in the Kingdom and Thailand. The meeting is a good initiative from the Jeddah Chamber, to open new horizons of trade cooperation between the two countries in various fields of trade; Especially with the presence of Thai business owners and their Saudi counterparts; Those who represent several sectors, including the economic, industrial and investment fields.

It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and the Kingdom of Thailand amounted to more than 18 billion dollars during the past three years, as the value of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s exports to the Kingdom of Thailand during the year 2021 amounted to 3 billion and 849 million dollars, compared to three billion and 280 million dollars in 2020. And the Kingdom of Thailand’s imports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2021 amounted to about one billion and 901 million dollars, compared to two billion and 274 million dollars in the previous year.
