Awareness of technical regulations: technical regulations for leather products and technical regulations for paper and cardboard

The Jeddah Chamber organized a workshop to raise awareness of the technical regulations (the technical regulations for leather products, and the technical regulations for paper and cardboard products); In cooperation with the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality; In the presence of a number of business community and those interested in the industrial and investment field. The workshop, which was presented by a senior conformity specialist at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Mr. Issa Bin Abdulaziz Al Mulhim; highlighted the importance of these regulations and what is related to them in determining the basic requirements, which are included in the areas of these technical regulations, and specifying the conformity assessment procedures that suppliers must adhere to while displaying and placing these products in the Kingdom’s markets, in order to ensure the health and safety of the consumer and the transparency of the information provided to them, and the preservation of the environment. It is notable that the technical regulations for paper and cardboard products; Applies to all paper and board products; Whether it is graphic paper “printing paper, writing paper, newspaper paper”, packaging paper, cardboard paper, kraft paper, cardboard, paper boards, sanitary paper, industrial paper, and paper pulp, paper products in contact with food and wallpaper products subject to according to other technical regulations, wet and scented wipes and makeup wipes subject to the Food and Drug Authority. The technical regulations for leather products apply to all types of leather products, whether it is natural leather, artificial leather, a mixture of them, or their manufactures. Shoes subject to the technical regulations for shoes and their accessories, and leather before tanning are excluded from the list.
