Awareness of technical regulations for building materials in a workshop in Jeddah Chamber

The Jeddah Chamber, represented by the Council of Commerce and Retail, held today the activities of a workshop to raise awareness of the requirements of the technical regulations for building materials, which target the segment of merchants, manufacturers, and suppliers; This is in cooperation with the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality. The workshop was presented by the Director of the Regulations Preparation Department at the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Eng. Faisal Abdulhafeez Al Nabhani; Technical regulations in general, and technical regulations for building materials in particular, and a statement of the sectors of metals and their alloys for construction and buildings, insulation materials, building cladding materials, in addition to hydraulic bonds and related products. The workshop dealt with the regulations of bricks, tiles, ceramics, sanitary ware and related products, and pipes used in water, electricity and gas networks. Eng. Faisal Al Dakhil, Director of the Chemical Specifications Department, gave a presentation on the standard specifications and touched on the most important specifications mentioned in the regulations. It is mentioned that the technical regulations for building materials aim to define the basic requirements for the products included in the field of technical regulations, and to specify the conformity assessment procedures that suppliers must adhere to, and that To ensure that these products comply with the basic requirements that aim to preserve the environment and consumer health and safety, and to facilitate market survey procedures.
