Today, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, sponsored the launch of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, entitled "Innovation towards Leadership", organized by the Jeddah Chamber, in partnership with the University of Jeddah, and in conjunction with the Global Entrepreneurship Week. It targets 10,000 innovators, male and female entrepreneurs, and those interested in this field, at the Park Hyatt Hotel, with the participation of business establishments, investors, and entrepreneurial supporters.

In a speech initiating the launch, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jeddah Chamber, Muhammad bin Yusuf Naghi  affirmed the generous sponsorship of His Highness the Governor of Jeddah for this event, which is titled "Innovation towards Leadership", in partnership with a number of agencies, foremost of which is the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, to Business establishments, investors and supporters of entrepreneurship.

He added that the forum, which touches on the Kingdom's Vision 2030, establishes a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship and its contribution to advancing the national development wheel, in addition to being an environment to educate society about the concept of innovation in entrepreneurship, and to seek solutions that serve this direction, whether through holding specialized workshops or through dialogue sessions on the topics of creativity, innovation, intellectual property and industry, targeting 500 beneficiaries.

After that, a film about innovation towards leadership was shown, then His Excellency the President of the University of Jeddah, Dr. Adnan bin Salem Al-Humaidan, gave a speech in which he noted the twinning with the university to draw the features of the stimulating present and the bright future of the Kingdom with a vibrant society, a prosperous economy and an ambitious country, indicating that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 translated this into stimulating Scientific research and innovation, and the development of human capabilities, which is the first supporter of this great vision, and educational institutions of all types and levels come under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education, which made the vision, its premises and goals a reflection of it, presenting to the country its first outputs, and distinguished ideas, so it supported research and innovation, and strengthened its programs, projects and partnerships that bring growth and prosperity to this sector.

He added that the University of Jeddah paid great attention to this field, and supported it by empowering young and distinguished talents, encouraging scientists and innovators, and opened wide horizons in it through effective partnerships and qualitative initiatives, and among those initiatives: the electronic research and innovation portal, future pioneers accelerators, the University of Jeddah Center for Future Logistics, and a marketing initiative Products and linking to the industrial sector, the specialized consultancy initiative, and the technology transfer and localization initiative.
